The Woody Guthrie Restoration Project

The ferry sloop Woody Guthrie requires major restoration work to enable it to continue offering free educational sails on the Hudson River.

Since 1978 the sloop Woody Guthrie has given thousands of people their first experience on a sailboat and their first experience of beauties of the river and the surrounding mountains from the vantage point of her deck.

The Beacon Sloop Club is in the home stretch of a multi-year fundraising effort to replace the original ribs and the sheer strakes (or build a new hull), to allow the Woody to continue to sail and take guests out onto the river for another 30 or more years.

Please contribute what you can to help keep Pete and Toshi's dream alive!
